Framing Your Dream

Traditional timber framing, also known as post and beam construction or heavy timber joinery, is an ancient construction technique using large posts and beams joined with mortise and tenon joints that are held in place with off-set tree nails or hardwood pegs. This type of construction has been used all over the world for thousands of years, from the temples of Japan and churches of Russia to the grand castle halls of Europe and the UK, and agricultural barns of the United States. These buildings truly stand the test of time and are still being used after many hundreds of years of service.

The large milled timbers create a stunning superstructure for your build that can be infilled with any material of your choice from conventional SIPS and timber construction, to Earth, Strawbale or Hemp.

Already have an existing home but love the look of heavy timbers? We can retrofit our timber frames inside your home, add a truss or an accent, internally or externally, to create a stunning timber feature.

We have created timber frames for 10sqm sleepouts and 350sqm halls, hammerbeam trusses for agricultural barns and cross frames for house renovations. This type of construction is extremely versatile and can lift any project out of the ordinary into the extra-ordinary! Custom design your own timber frame with our team specifically for your project, choose one of the kit-sets below, or choose from one of our sustainable pre-fabs.

Kit-Sets

Our timber frame pre-fabs are available as kit-sets as well! They are perfect for those wanting to build their own shelter and explore different material techniques. From earth building to strawbale, timber to conventional SIPS and glass - your choice of wall material is unlimited. Or just keep them as they are for a unique pergola in your garden. With these beautiful timber frame superstructures you can handcraft your perfect space!
